Luminous vases
These are vases in which the luminosity is provided by a specific energy source (current or battery); normally, the luminous element (bulbs or LED strips) is located inside the vase itself, moulded in polyethylene, or in general in plastic material.
The light can be either cold or warm; much depends on both the light source and the diffusing material (i.e. the pot). If white, the reflected light will be the same as the bulbs/stripes; if coloured, the warmth and colour will be changed. Some have the possibility of selecting different RGB shades, i.e. playing with the light spectrum to change colour or create multi-coloured light effects.

Fluorescent vases
In this case we are talking about vases that, after absorbing ambient light (possibly from the sun and for several hours), release it in the dark, without the need for any external energy support; to explain it simply, polyethylene is treated with certain substances (non-toxic, non-radioactive and safe for health and the environment) that, by absorbing light, enter a state called “electronic excitation“. In the dark, the molecules of these substances gradually release their stored energy in the form of light: this explains how fluorescence works.
The fundamental advantage, apart from the more reasonable cost (also in terms of consumption), is that it is a completely environmentally friendly light element that does not require electricity from any source.
So how do we choose?

Actually, here too the choice depends largely on the environment in which you want to place your vase.
If we are talking about outdoors, then luminous vases, which can be a functional and useful light point in case of driveways or verandas, are perhaps the best choice; the fact of having a larger space, which can hardly enjoy ambient light (we are talking about at night) like a room, is the fundamental motivation.
